Joseph is the son of Joseph Lockwood and Sarah Slauson. He is buried in the North Stamford Cemetery in Stamford, Fairfield Co. Connecticut. Inscribed on the the bottom of his mother's headstone: "Also in memory of their infant son JOSEPH who died May 4, 1804 aged 1 year..."
