A Sylvia, Kan., native, Mr. McElroy had lived in Garden City until 1942 when he moved to Perryton. He was a retired transport trucker. Local survivors include a brother, Bill McElroy, 123 W. Hazel; and two sisters, Violet Smith and Dorothy Armstrong, 501 N. 10th. He also is survived by his wife, Nettie, a son, three brothers, a sister and four grandchildren.
