      SLAUSON, Doris D.
      Doris D. Slauson, 95, a life-long resident of Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2013. Doris formerly worked at Universal Advertising and Gayfers. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alfred and Annie Lee Deavers, daughter and son in law: Doris Ann and Jack Harris; and sister Margaret Heath. Survivors include her Daughters: Judy (Bryan) Hassler, Carol (Sonny) Van Houten; Sons: Wilbur "Bo" (Lisa) Slauson, Jr., Roy (Karen) Slauson; Brother: Alfred Deavers; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 22, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel with Ministers Buddy Bell and Mark Loudermilk officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jim Dickens, Jay Dickens, Trey Slauson, Evan McCullers, Scott Slauson and Shawn Slauson. The family extends a special thanks to her loving caregivers Lois Jones and Jane Meriwether and to Amedisys Hospice. Flowers will be accepted or donations to Landmark Church of Christ Missions, 1800 Halcyon Blvd., Montgomery, AL 36117 or Amedisys Hospice Services, 8160 Decker Lane, Montgomery, AL 37117.
