Sara Jane Davenport Ackerman, 99, of 465 Pistol Club Road, wife of the late Harold Edgar Ackerman, died Sunday, December 9, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.

Born in Wantage Township, New Jersey, a daughter of the late William Peacock and Anna Willis Davenport, Mrs. Ackerman was a homemaker.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Patricia Ackerman, of Easley; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Bill Lingard, of Bethlehem, Pa; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The body is being sent to Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston, NJ, for funeral services. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park in Hanover, New Jersey. Robinson Funeral Home. Published in The Greenville News on Dec. 11, 2001.

Robert Edward Ackerman, 83, Easley died June 25, 2007.

Born in Wantage Township, NJ, the son of the late Harold and Sara Davenport Ackerman, Mr. Ackerman retired from Public Service Electric and Gas of New Jersey, and was a member of Saint Matthias Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having spent thirty months in the European Theatre while serving in the 851st Engineer Aviation Battalion.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Blaire Ackerman of the home; two sons, Robert B. Ackerman of Concord, CA, and Steven R. Ackerman of Orefield, PA; a daughter, Kathryn M. Ackerman of Vancouver, WA; sister, Charlotte Lingard of Randleman, NC; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Scott, and Thomas Ackerman.

Burial in East Hanover, NJ.

Charlotte May Ackerman Lingard, age 84, of Red Oak Drive, Randleman died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mrs. Lingard was born October 3, 1928 the daughter of Harold and Sarah Davenport Ackerman.

Mrs. Lingard was a native of East Orange, NJ and formerly worked for Dell Publishing. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Randleman, NC.

She is survived by her husband: Wilbert Lingard and daughter: Nancy Best both of the home, son: Wayne Lingard and his wife, Marilyn of Hackettstown, NJ; four grandchildren: Roger Best; Ainsley Mercer and her husband Jonathan, Katie Lankford and her husband, Joseph, Michael Booth and his wife, Paula; four great grandchildren: Andrew Lankford, Brianna Lankford, Emily Booth and Amber Booth.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 12:30 PM at First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman, NC with Rev. Chris Heppding officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
