    Name:
    He served in the expedition against Spain with the Earl of Essex, by whom he was knighted, in Dublin, 12 July 1599, and joined in his rebellion, for which he was fined L3,000, and imprisoned for some months, but received a special pardon on 2 July 1601. Having alienated all his English estate, he purchased, in 1606, the Barony of Lecale, co. Down, in Ireland.

    Edward married Elizabeth UPTON in 1581. Elizabeth died in London, England; was buried on 15 Jan 1592/3 in Launde Abbey. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
