James Edward Brownlow

James Edward Brownlow, 72, retired Carrollton welder, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1987, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Slawson Brownlow of Carrollton, four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Garrett and Mrs. Ahlean Sanders, both of Greenwood, Mrs. Patricia Noah of Carrollton and Mrs. Cyril Dean Misskelley of North Carrollton, a son J.E. Brownlow, Jr of Memphis, three sisters, Mrs. Daisy James of Grenada and Mrs. Vera Johnson and Mrs. Norene Lee both of Winona, two brothers, Ike Brownlow of Pascagoula and Orval Brownlow of New Orleans, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. from New Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Bill Henerson preached. Interment was in New Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Clements, Wesley Clements, Gregory Clements, Raymond Sanders, Jr., Jeff Sanders and Brad Noah. Oliver Funeral Home handled arrangements.

James Edward Brownlow, Jr.

Funeral services for James Edward Brownlow, Jr., age 65, of Carrollton, were held June 18, 2003 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duane Jensen officiating assisted by Rev. Charlie Jones. Burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton with Lee Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brownlow died on June 16, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, TN. He was a Dental Technician, owner of Brownlow Dental Lab for 35 years. He was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church in Carrollton.

Survivors include his wife, Leta Beth Brownlow of Carrollton; three daughters, Michie Linn Hooks of Greenwood, Marianne Hooks McCaleb of Jackson and Melanie Hooks White of Greenwood; three sisters, Ahlean Sanders of Greenwood, Patricia Noah of Carrollton and Cyril Dean Misskelley of North Carrollton; mother, Mrs. Maggie Slawson Brownlow; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Brownlow was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Brownlow, Sr. and his sister, Margaret Clements Garrett.

Pallbearers were John Walker Brooks, Scott Noah, Brad Noah, Dr. Wesley Clements, Robert Clements and Raymond Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Millard Costilow, Dr. Raymond Browning, Glen Pearson, Dennis Braswell, Bill Salmons and Beck Bail.
