David SAGE was born in 1639 in Wales; died on 31 Mar 1703 in Middletown, Connecticut.

He came to this country in early life and was one of the first settlers of Middletown, Conn., where, in 1652, he was granted a hoe lot "one the other side the riverlet on the other side the highway beyond the corner of Goodman White his fence on the west side the highway to Hartford," etc. (His lands in Middletown were recorded to him May 23, 1664; vol. 1, p. 39.)
He left what was then considered a large estate, L753,02-07. His gravestone is in the Riverside Cemetery on the river at the north end of Main St. in Middletown. He was made Freeman in 1667. From him was descended Russell Sage.
