    Hazel Ruth Pullins, 77, of St. Joseph, passed onto eternal life Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at her home.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger family funeral home, 2650 Niles Rd., in St. Joseph with Pastor Bob Confer officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Friday, January 1, 2010. Memorials may be made to First Church of God (Bus Fund).

    Hazel was born July 20, 1932 in Benton Harbor, MI to Frank & Helen (Wells) Slosson. On Christmas Day 1953 she married Leslie Pullins Jr. in Benton Harbor. Hazel was a loving mother who raised her children to be strong, independent adults, who in turn took great, care of her during her time of need. Hazel was a member of the First Church of God, TOPS Group, and the Senior Center. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, traveling and spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren.

    Hazel is survived by her three children Marie (John) Glynn of Chicago, Laura Pullins of Weston, Florida, and Leslie (Eileen) Pullins III of Ann Arbor; seven grandchildren Leslie IV, Nicole, Eric, Andrew, Brendan, Jakob, and Tommy; brother John Slosson of Baroda; and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Michael Pullins.

    Hazel married Leslie Robert PULLINS, Jr. on 25 Dec 1953 in Benton Harbor, Berrien Co., Michigan. Leslie was born on 7 Apr 1930; died on 20 Aug 1990 in St. Joseph, Berrien County, Michigan; was buried in North Shores Memory Gardens, Coloma, Berrien Co., Michigan. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Michael Steven Pullins, 46, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 30, 2009 at the Summit Home in Watervliet. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 A.M, Thursday September 3, at Dey-Florin Funeral Home, 2506 Niles Avenue, in St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mike was born January 22, 1963, in St. Joseph, Michigan. He spent the last seventeen years of his life as a resident of Summit Home where he was able to live his life in comfort and dignity. He was considered a gentle man with a sense of humor by caregivers and family alike. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Robert Pullins, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Hazel (Slosson) Pullins of St. Joseph, one older brother, Leslie Robert (Eileen) Pullins III of Ann Arbor, sisters Laura Pullins of Weston, Florida and Marie (John) Glynn of Chicago, six nephews, and one niece. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Summit Home.
