    Raymond P. Van Orden, 81, of S. Green St., Franklin, died Saturday at the Riverside Hospital in Boonton.
    Born in Sussex, he lived most of his life in Hamburg before moving to Franklin 18 years ago. He retired in 1962 as a wire inspector at the Plastold Corp., in Hamburg.
    Mr. Van Orden was a member of the Hamburg Fire Department where he was once the chief; he was a life Member of the Sussex County Peace Officer's Association; the Samaritan Lodge No. 98 F & AM of Hardyston; and the Wallkill Valley Senior Citizens.
    he is survived by his wife, Meryl; a son, Charles of Wantage, two daughters, Grace Wolfenbarger of Mabelton, Ga., and Avis Van Orden of Stone Mountain, GA; a brother, Lester of Clifton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Peter Kinyon of the Hamburg Baptist Church officiating. Internment will follow in the North Hardyston Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
    The Hamburg Fire Department will hold services at the funeral home today at 7:30 pm.

    Charles R. Van Orden, age 74, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. Mr. Van Orden was born and raised in Hamburg and has resided in Wantage for the last 35 years.
    Mr. Van Orden worked 30 years for the former Food City and the former Food Town in Wantage. Upon his retirement, he worked part-time for the Food Barn in Sussex.
    Mr. Van Orden was a member of the Pvt. Charles Auberger American Legion Post #213 of Sussex, having served with the U.S. Navy for eight years (1951-1954 and 1960-1964). He also served with the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. Mr. Van Orden was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
    He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Van Horn) Van Orden; children: Lynn Schmoyer of Hackettstown, N.J. and Michael Van Orden of Wantage, N.J.; sisters: Grace Wolfenbarger of Effington, Ill. and Avis Van Orden of Frankford, N.J. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Brittany, Bradford and Brandon Van Orden.


    ? Friends may call at the Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Third St., Sussex, N.J. on Monday, April 17, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. , with American Legion services to be held in the funeral home Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at North Hardystown Cemetery, Hardystown Township, N.J.
