    Name:
    Ebenezer Weed 3d was commissioned ensign in Oct., 1775, and lieut. in May, 1777, of the Fifth Co., of the 9th Regt., Conn., militia (Stamford trainband). Hannah Weed received land by gift from her father 3 Feb., 1784. Their five oldest children were bap. at 1st Ch. on 23 July, 1786. Lieut. Weed d. 6 Sept., 1790 and his will dated 30 Aug. 1790, pro. 13 Sept. 1790, mentions wife Hannah and children Ebenezer Edwin, Joseph Ambler, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha, Abigail and Hannah Ambler Weed. Exs., wife and father-in-law Joseph Ambler. Hannah Ambler Weed d. 13 Nov. 1797. Her g.s. in North St. Cem., Stamford is among oldest Ambler stones standing today. On 2 Aug., 1802, Strong Sturges of N.Y. City was named guardian of the children Ebenezer Edwin, Joseph Ambler, Abigail and Hannah Weed. On 22 May, 1811, Strong Sturges, Ebenezer Edwin Weed, Joseph Weed, Martha Weed, hannah A. Weed, all of N.Y. City, and Walter Budington and wife Mary of New Haven, Conn., q.c. to John Scofield land at Shiphand, Stamford. On 26 Sept., 1812, Strong Sturges and wfe Martha and the others named in the previous deed sold to Jonathan Weed "the farm whereof our grandfather Joseph Ambler died seized."
