    DROWNED WHILE BATHING

    The Death of a Young Man Who Was Bontanizing.

    Auror, Ill., May 12 - While bathing in Fox River, just below this city, yesterday afternoon, Charles Chaffee, a promising young man aged twenty years, was drowned. He was the son of Alonzo D. Chaffee, a farmer residing near Elburn Station, in this county, and was a student at Jenning's seminary in this city. When the accident occurred he was ut aftr botay specimens in company with two companions.

    Charles was a student in jennings Seminary, and was drowned while bathing with two of his fellow students; he had been teaching school shortly before his death; was of the Baptist Church in Campton, of which he was clerk.

    "Faithful, judicious,efficient in every service undertaken by him, whether on the farm, in the school as pupil or as teacher, or in any other capacity, he won the confidence and esteem of all."
