Mrs. Maggie (Slawson) Ferguson, 86 of 2440 St. Clair Ave., died at the Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon (Ill.) at 4:45 a.m. today, April 2, 1984. She was a resident of the care center since October 1983. Mrs. Ferguson was born December 3, 1898 in Miller County, MO, and moved to this area 59 years ago. She was a member of Bethel Chapel Pentecostal Church. Her husband, Sherman Ferguson, died in 1977.
Survivors include four sons, Lowell Ferguson, Granite City, Raymond Ferguson, Collinsville, Robert Ferguson of Maryville and Ralph Ferguson of Joplin, MO; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Aldridge, Fairview Heights, Mrs. Harold (Phoebe) Knecht, Placerville, Calif. and Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Hayes of Thayer, MO; a brother Everett Slawson of Crocker, MO; one sister, Mrs Albert (Blanche) Alexander of Dixon, MO; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home, 21st Street and Cleveland Boulevard. The Rev. Clifton Galiher will conduct services at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Bethel Chapel Pentecostal Church, 25th Street and Ohio Avenue, with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville Township.

Blanche Alexander, 79, of Dixon, was born on Jan. 15, 1910, at Iberia in Miller County, a daughter of Charles Robert and Phoebe Carolyn Blyze Salwson. She died on Saturday, April 15, 189, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Mrs. Alexander had been in failing health for the past several years.
She was united in marriage on Sept. 24, 1930, at Tuscumbia to James Albert Alexander who died on July 16, 1985.
Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Burnett Christian Church of Dixon and prior to her retirement in 1968, she was employed in the fitting room for 18 years at Brown Shoe Company in Dixon.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Betty Raines of Springfield, Mrs. Lois Beydler of Canyon City, Calif, and Mrs. Cleta Colley of Dixon; one brother, Everett Slawson of Crocker; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Alexander at 2 p.m., on Monday in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. Earl Jones of Dixon officiating. Interment was in
the Dixon Cemetery.

Dorothy E. Aldridge, nee Ferguson, 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Sunday, Nov. 12, 1916, in Miller County, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Aldridge was the owner and operator with her husband Ernest, of Dor-Maru Shores Mobile Home Park in New Athens, Ill. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Ill., Republican Women's Club and past president and secretary for Belleville Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Aldridge; parents, Sherman R. and Maggie, nee Slawson, Ferguson; son Bill Aldridge; brothers Lowell, Raymond and Robert Ferguson; and sister, Phoebe Knecht.
Surviving are her son, Richard Aldridge, of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Ralph Ferguson of Carthage, Mo.; sister, Melba Ruth (Don) Hayes of Thayer, Mo.; dear friend, Bonita Miller of Swansea, Ill.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Raymond E. Ferguson, 85, of Collinsville, Ill. died Monday, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Ferguson was a retired switchman for the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis, and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge 712, in Collinsville; the Scottish Rite Bodies, and Ainad Shrine Legion of Honor. He was a past associate guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel #42, and past chapter advisor of Ascalon Chapter Order of Demolay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Rose (Swigert) Ferguson - his first wife, Marjorie L. (Bennett) Fuller - his parents, Sherman R. and Maggie E. (Slawson) Ferguson - two brothers, Lowell, and Robert Ferguson, and a sister, Phoebe Knecht.
Surviving are three daughters and three sons. They are Judy Commire & husband, Bob, of Sebring, Fla; Janet Bright and husband Jim, of Excelsior Springs, Mo; Ed Ferguson & wife Lynn, of E. Falmouth, Mass.; Danny Ferguson of Westland, Mich.; Mary Humphrey & husband Gary,of Colliinsville, Ill., and Alan Ferguson of Monticello, Wis. Two sisters:

Berdette Hancock, 82, of Gulfport, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Mountain Home, Arkansas with his son, Michael, at his bedside.
Mr. Hancock was born in Iberia, Missouri and had been a resident of Gulfport for 40 years. He retired in 1963 as a MSgt. in the U. S. Air Force with over 20 years of service. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Agnes French Hancock.
Mr. Hancock is survived by two sons, Bill Hancock of Vidalia, LA and Michael Hancock of Harriet, AR; a brother, Carl E. Hancock of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Robert Wayne Slawson, 59, died Friday, Feb. 10, 1989. He was born May 22, 1929 in Iberia to Everett A. and Clara M McDowell Slawson. His father and step-mother, Everett and Vera Slawson, survive at Crocker.
Mr. Slawson worked for many years as a crane operator for Alco Aluminum.
Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Slawson of Davenport, Iowa and Deborah Trout of Rock Island, Ill.; two sons, Don Slawson of Brooksville, Fla., and Robert Slawson of Davenport, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Slawson and Clark Slawson, both of Waynesville; and a sister, Imogene Wood of Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Long Funeral Home in Crocker with the Rev. Farris Wall officiating. Burial was in Hawkeye Cemetery.

Dennis Wayne Slawson, 67, of Iberia, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Capital
Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Iberia on June 26, 1942, son of the late Glen T.
and Opal Anne (Stone) Slawson. On August 17, 1963, in Crocker, Dennis was united in marriage to
Karen Porter, who survives at the home.
He is also survived by one daughter, Angela Ciafullo and husband Craig of Kansas City; one son,
Charles ?Chip? Slawson and wife Anne of Iberia; and three grandchildren, Tyler Slawson of Iberia,
Kaylie Slawson of Iberia; and Isabella Ciafullo of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by one brother,
Leon Slawson in 1960.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral
Home in Iberia, with a graveside service immediately following in Madden Cemetery near Iberia. Rev.

Alva Slawson, 49, Crocker, died Oct. 20, 1999, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia. He was born April 24, 1950, in Crocker, a son of Alva and Helen Fancher Slawson. He was married Feb. 3, 1983, in Robinson, Ill., to Charlotte Johnson, who survives at the home. He served in the Army and Marines and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America; VFW Post 4965, Crocker; a life member of Disabled American Veterans; the Missouri Corporation of Veterans; and Buckhorn Baptist Church, Buckhorn. He worked as a cable splicer for International Tele-Communications, Inc.
Other survivors include: one son, Alva Andrew Slawson, Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Lisa Erdmier, Crocker; one stepdaughter, Elsie Glosser, St. Robert; three brothers, Stephen Slawson, Bowling Green, and Fredrick Griggs and Jimmie Griggs, both of Lawrenceville, Ill.; two sisters, Lula Gulledge and Theresa Thacker, both of Lawrenceville; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Crocker. The Rev. Larry Atkins and the Rev. Ben Woody will officiate. Burial will be in Madden Ford Cemetery, Crocker.
