    Dorothy M. Ray, 83, of Bandon, died July 12, at her home.

    Born February 14, 1914, in Cresco, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alfred and Ida Slausen Woodward.

    She worked as a nurse in the Sacramento, California area.

    On March 4, 1938, she married Tom Ray, Sr., and moved to Grants Pass. In 1945, they settled in Bandon, were she resided ever since.

    Mr. Ray died in 1973.

    Mrs. Ray had a variety of interests and hobbies. Her family said she was known for her sense of humor and outgoing personality.

    A graveside funeral service was held Monday afternoon in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Bandon. Her son, Tom Ray, officiated.
