    Maurine Coleman Vick, 90, of McGregor, died Wednesday evening, May 4, 2011. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor, with the Rev. Mark Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery near Oglesby. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cole Funeral Home.

    Maurine was born near Oglesby, Texas, the oldest daughter of the late Albert Wallace and Clara Eliza (Brown) Coleman. She was reared in Oglesby where she was a 1939 graduate of Oglesby High School. While working at the Bluebonnet Ordnance Plant in McGregor, Maurine met her future husband, Cecil Vick in 1942. On Dec. 9, 1944, they were married in Oglesby, Texas.

    After World War II ended and the Ordnance Plant closed, Cecil and Maurine remained in McGregor where they worked and made their home. Maurine worked 23 years for Phillips Petroleum Company and later Rocketdyne. For 13 years, she served as Executive Director for the McGregor Housing Authority. She served her community for almost 20 years as a volunteer with the McGregor Ambulance Association. In 1992, both she and Cecil retired. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of McGregor where she was a member of the Ruth Class.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Cecil, on Feb. 9, 1995.

    Survivors include daughter, Gae Woodruff and husband, Randy; granddaughter, Lauren, all of Robinson, Texas; step-son, Warren Vick and wife, Gloria; step-granddaughters, Tonya Vick and Valerie Vick Haaland and husband, Mark; and twin step-great-granddaughters, all of California; sister, Eunice Coleman Vick, of Waco; brother-in-law, Glynn Vick, of McGregor; many other family members; and a host of friends.

    Eunice Coleman Vick, 90, of McGregor, passed away May 3, 2015. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, at Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, with the Rev. James R. Haney officiating. Burial will be in Post Oak Cemetery near Oglesby.

    Eunice was born, on the family farm south of Oglesby, Texas, to the late Albert Wallace and Clara Brown Coleman. She attended Oglesby schools and graduated in May 1942. On May 22, 1947, she and R.L. Vick were married in Burnet, Texas, and made their home in McGregor. Eunice united with the First Baptist Church in Oglesby at an early age. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Baptist Church in McGregor.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L.; and her sister, Maurine Vick.

    Survivors include nieces, Gae Woodruff and Grace McIntyre; and nephews: Billy Ed Vick, Warren Vick and John Robert Wales; other relatives and many friends.
