Alice J. Burrows of Port Jervis, a retired Port Jervis School systems cafeteria employee and longtime resident of the area, died Saturday, May 2, 1998 in Horton Medical Center, Middletown. She was 93. The daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Hawkins Edwards, she was born Jan 29, 1905, in Mongaup. She was the widow of Charles E. Burrows. She was a member of Drew United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; and Leisure Seniors club, all in Port Jervis. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Erie and Shirley Delallas, both of Huguenot, five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 5, from 2 -4 and 7 - 9 P.M. at Knight Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. today, Wednesday, May 6 at the funeral home. The Rev Robert Cassidy will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Drew United Methodist Church, Port Jervis, NY 12771. Arrangements were made by Knight Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc.
