    Alfred "Tom" Thomas Slawson, 68, of Wallace passed away June 15, 2013, at his home in Wallace. He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Dishman, Wash.; Tom was the son of Alfred and Helen (McBeth) Slawson.
    Tome received his spot welding degree and had served as a hard rock miner for various mines throughout the Untied States.
    Tom loved and enjoyed his family, four-wheeling, hunting and huckleberry picking; he was also a avid fisherman. Tom had been a member of the Wallace Eagles.
    Tom is survived by three children, Teresa Higgins of Salem, Ore.,Thomas Slawson of Jefferson, Ore., and Tabatha Birdsell of Kellogg; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by several cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Terran (Slawson) Roberts.
    Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday,June 19, at the Murray Cemetery of Murray, and then following graveside services a Celebration of Tom's Life and a gathering of famiy and friends will be held at the Murray Courthouse Communnity Center; this will be pot-luck and everyone is welcome.
