    Name:
    Almerick W. Wilbur enlisted 16 Apr. 1861 as a private in Battery A, 1st Mich. Light Art. (known as the Loomis Battery). He served more than 4 yrs. under Generals McClellan, Buell, Crittendon and others. Then he was under Generals Mitchell and Thomas at Nashville, Murfreesboro, Stone River, Tullahoma, Chattanooga, Lookout Mt., MissionRidge, Chickamauqua and Atlanta. He was 5 times wounded and had 2 horses shot out from under him. He was promoted for gallantry through the ranks from Sarg.-Major to 2nd Lt., 1st Lt. and in 1864 to a Captain.

    He engaged in the harness business after the war in Chicago and was living there during the Chicago fire in 1871. In 1876 he moved to Calif. by 1880 he had moved to Brockport, NY. He was with the Johnson harvester Co. in Rochester, NY as an officer. He also served as a pension councilor and processed over 1300 pensions for his clients. he was a member of the Masonic Order and the G.A.R. Post.

    Noah W. Wilbur in 1862 entered Hillsdale College as a law student. He only remained a short time and left at age 19 to enlist as a private in Co. A, 1st Mich. Light Art. (the Loomis Battery in which his bro. Almerick was a 1st Lt.) He fought in the Tennessee Campaign and at Chickamauga. He was mustered out 28 July, 1865 at Jackson, Mich. He returned to Chattanooga where he lived the rest of his life. he was in the farming and real estate business in Chattanooga.

    Noah married Eva Augusta MILLER on 4 Nov 1876. Eva was born on 21 Aug 1852 in Ottawa, Illinois; died on 22 Jul 1915 in Chattanooga, Tennessee; was buried in Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Warren Wilbur entered the Wholesale Dry Goods business in Detroit in 1869. He moved to Kansas City in 1880. In the early 1890's he became a general salesman for a well known Kansas City Dry Goods Company. He retired in 1906 because he felt his savings and investments were sufficient to live upon. He moved to Los Angeles where they lived until 1923 when they returned to Quincy, Mich. for the remainder of their lives.
