    • Dec 5, 1774, the town chose a committee to take into consideration a proposition submitted by the continental Congress, held a Philadelphia, Sept 5 1774, and approved by the lower house of Assembly, relating to the advisability of holding a County Congress. The town approved of the same, and appointed Gershom Raymond and Eliakim Raymond with others on said Committee. Feb 6, 1775, among the persons chosen by the town to represent it in the County Congress was Gershom Raymond. April 20, 1781, his name with others was reported to the Town as "Inimical and Dangerous to the liberties and Independence of the United States of America. [1]
