- Harold Edward Ferguson
Harold Edward Ferguson Harold Edward Ferguson was reunited with his life partner, Marie on August 2, 2011. Harold was born in Dixon, MO on July 12, 1928 to Charles Leslie and Veda Mae (Sloan) Ferguson. He grew up in Missouri and had wonderful boyhood stories that he took with him wherever he went in life.
In July 1945, Harold joined the Army Air Corp and served 20 years in the United States Air Force. During his time in the military, he and Marie traveled to Japan, Bermuda and different places in the U.S. During his military service, he worked as an ambulance driver, x-ray technician, pharmacy tech, scientific instrument repairman, and his proudest moments were those spent on the NASA Space Program. He was assigned to Project Gemini and oversaw the hospital for the astronauts on each flight. After retiring from the military, he moved his family to Denton, TX in 1966, where he spent 20 years at the University of North Texas (known then as NTSU). He and Marie had many good years in retirement prior to her death in 2009.
No father, grandfather, or husband was ever more devoted or loving.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 58 years, Mabel Marie Carpino Ferguson.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Ferguson, Pamela Ferguson, Melinda Webb and husband Randy; sisters, Thelma Griffith, Evelyn Carroll and many nieces and nephews.
