    • Ebenezer North was one of the petitioners to the General Assembly at Hartford, May 10, 1739, for permission to erect a new meetinghouse in Kensington Parish. He removed from Great Swamp (now Berlin) or Kensington to Torrington in the spring of 1741 with his family. With Zebulon Curtis he bought two farms south of the old Matthew Grant place in Torrington, where he settled, later selling part of his land to Curtis.
      Ebenezer North was the progenitor of the Torrington branch of the Norths. [1]
