Name |
John KIDDER [1] |
- John Kidder was a farmer in the town of Randolph, Vt., until 1806, in which year he and his family moved to New York State, settling at Alexander, then a part of Batavia, Genessee Co., where he built a log cabin in which they lived until 1813. Some time prior to his death in the Spring of that year he had prepared plans and had the timbers ready for a more pretentious and commodious home, but his widow Ruth with indomitable courage and enterprise took up the task he left and erected the house, which to this day is occupied by descendants.
