Name |
Abraham AMBLER [2] |
- Abraham Ambler served in Rev. under Col Thaddeus Crane in 4th Regt., Westchester militia. The census of 1790 places him in Salem, Westchester Co., with a household of 4 females. He removed to Canaan, Columbia Co., N.Y., about 1790. On 10 Nov., 1794, he and wife Rhoda, being of Canaan, deeded to Abraham Raymond of Norwalk, Conn., a 50 acre farm in Canaan. Early Columbia Co. land recs. are unsatisfactory as much land was held on leases. Probably he removed to Nassau, Rensselaer Co, about 1800. His later years were spent on a farm on the west shore of Lake Tsatsawassa, Nassau, and there on the rubbish heap of an abandoned barn the compiler found the g.s. of Abraham and Rhoda Ambler in 1932.
