- When sixteen years old he removed with his father from Colchester to Ellington, Ct., and March 11, 1754, his father deeded him a house and farm there. In 1767, he removed to Ludlow, Mass., then a part of Springfield, where he was one of the pioneers and a leading man in church and public affairs, and a public official in various capacities. His last years were spent in Monson with his son Benjamin. [1]
