John WINSLOW [1, 2] |
- He commanded a company in the Cuba expedition of 1740; was a Colonel in the expedition to Nova Scotia in 1755; and was Commander-in-Chief at Fort William Henry on Lake George in 1756. He sold all his estate in marshfield on 28 June 1773 to his sons Pelham and Isaac, both of whom were appointed administrators of his estate on 6 June 1774. John Winslow died in Marshfield and his tombstone inscription reads: " Hon John Winslow Esq. died April 17, 1774, AET 72." [1]
