    • Gen. Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England: Boston, merch. but early wrote hims. brewer, came prob. with w. Mary, whose fam. name was Sears, as radit. tells; if so he had been, I think, here bef. m. her, a. 1636. and went home to find a wife. She join. our ch. 5 Sep. 1640, and he joined 30 Jan. foll. was freem. 2 June foll. ar. co. 1642, and constable the same yr. rep. 1661 and 2, assist. 1668 to 80 inclus. and d. at Dunstable, 28 Dec. 1681, one acco. says aged 81, but the credit is less, inasmuch as the same marks the day 28 Sept. as in Geneal. reg. VIII, and I concur with Farmer MS. wh. thinks more prob. the age 71.
