  	Virginia Lee Slosson Higgs of Waynesboro passed away at her home on Monday, April 17, 2017. Born April 22, 1939 she was the youngest of the six children of the late William and Grace Wright Slosson. She was also preceded in death by her sister Aileen Slosson Wright, and brothers James, William and Russell Slosson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and animal advocate. She enjoyed water skiing, gardening, shopping, and a good seafood dinner. Active in many civic organizations, she taught Sunday school, was a Girl Scout leader, and helped with the local Disciples Kitchen at her church, Second Presbyterian. Growing up she enjoyed singing, playing multiple sports, and any competitive activity against her brothers. Her greatest loves were her family and her animals, especially her poodles. Virginia leaves behind her husband of 55 years, R. Jack Higgs; a daughter, Lesa Higgs Osteen and son-in-law Dale A. Osteen; two very loved grandchildren, Joshua and Kristen Osteen; a brother Richard Slosson and wife Morelle; many nieces and nephews; and close family friends Lisa and Tom Enright. There will be an open house for family and friends on Thursday, April 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of her daughter, 304 N. Oak Ln. [1]
