- Excerpt from Blood Royal: Eleanor was married to Llywelyn by proxy in 1275. Later that year, she left for Wales, but her ship was captured "on behalf of the English King" in the Bristol Channel. She was imprisoned till 1278, when her husband finally submitted to Edwar I. She was then married to her husband in the presence of the king.
