  	Lola Mary "Johnie" Watson was born July 9, 1917 near Aledo, Dewey County, Oklahoma one of three children born to the farm family of Clarence Alexander Watson and Willie May (Williams) Watson. She attended school at Center Point. Johnie married Lowell Rounds in December 1934 in Arapaho, Oklahoma . They farmed together and Lowell was also a carpenter. They shared 63 years of marriage and were blessed with two sons, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Johnie was active in the Leedey First United Methodist Church and the Rhea Quilting Club. She also quilted with the ladies at her church. She loved to crochet. She volunteered at the church, a local nursing home and in the community when needed. Johnie was inducted into the Centenarians of Oklahoma Hall of Fame at the age of 102. She shared these words of wisdom with us at that time: "Save and pay as you go and do as you are able". Johnie's great granddaughter, Jocelyn Rounds wrote a short biography of her great-grandmother's life. A copy of that biography will be attached to our Centenarians of Oklahoma file which will be sent to the Oklahoma Historical Society Special Collections Department for a permanent record. It is also on file in the Dewey County Historical Society in the 1973 edition of Spanning the River at the Taloga Courthouse. Biography provided by Centenarians of Oklahoma. [1]
