      Holland Slawson's parents were Albert (also known as Abner or Ab) and Mary E. "Mollie" Thurston (Thornton) Slawson. Mary was his 3rd or 4th wife. She was born in GA or AL in Nov. 1844 and Albert ca. 1826 in AL. They were married on June 13, 1869 in Union Parish, LA. Albert's first wife was Sarah F. Perdue. They married in Lowndes Co., AL on Jan. 20, 1847. Albert's 2nd wife was Holland Lee Brantly. She was born ca. 1831 in AL & was the dau. of Martin Battle Lee. This Holland & Albert married between 1852 & 1860. She was the widow of a Mr. Brantly at the time. Albert Slawson's father was David L. Slawson. He was born in NC ca. 1795 & died ca. 1844 probably in Lowndes Co., AL. David was a War of 1812 soldier and a resident of Wake Co., NC at that point in time. His wife (the mother of Albert) was Eliza. After David's death, she married Lazarus Smith in Lowndes Co., AL on April 6, 1846. By 1860 this couple had moved to Union Parish, LA. Albert's 2nd wife's mother was Lavincy Albritton. [1]
