- John Scudder was born in England in 1619 and came to America from London in 1635. His wife was HANNAH. He resided first at Charlestown and became a freeman there in 1639. The next year he moved to Barnstable Massachusetts and resided there the rest of his life. In 1643 he listed there as able to bear arms. He died about 1689 and the settlement of his estate was approved at Barnstable on 15 April 1690. His wife Hannah and children John and Sarah were mentioned in the settlement. [1]
