  	Connie Marie Slawson Virginia Beach - With heavy hearts we share that our Mother, Connie Marie Slawson, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2016. Born December 8, 1940 in Woodlawn, Virginia to the late Dexter Williams and Gladys Gillespie Sekot, Connie was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Marshall Van Slawson. We are confident their reunion in heaven is oh-so-sweet! Marshall and Connie made a dashing couple: he who knew no strangers, and she with her striking beauty and style ... together they were the ultimate hosts to many a friend and family member over the years. Oh, the incredible gatherings we enjoyed! Connie was a successful hairdresser and owner of The Yakkety Yak Salon in Norfolk's Wards Corner for many years. She was a cherished wife, wonderful Mother and Grandmother, a great dancer, a true southern cook and likely the easiest person to talk to you ever met. Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her brothers, Ronald Williams (Jean) and Dennis Williams (Gail), and her and Marshall's large brood of children: J.D. Moseley, Kim Allen, Laura Daugherty (Dale), Lana Ponsonby (Jim), Lisa Saunders (Walter), Larry Slawson, Moni O'Haran (Gus), grandchildren Brittney Allen, Hannah Witowski (Russell), Michael Daugherty (Lauren), Randy Gonse (Kayde), Ashley Letson (Daniel), Missy Gonse, Katie & Samuel Saunders, Christina Slawson, Emily Hunt (Kyle), Jesse and Julia Pearson, and great-grandchildren Russell and Joseph, Emma and Logan, Noah, Haily, Kayla, Melanie and Ethan, and soon-to-be-born Baby Marshall! Many more cousins, special nieces, nephews and true friends will miss Connie greatly. Many thanks for the outpouring of love and concern from friends and family; we love and appreciate you all!
