Marjorie Snow Hall Spackman, peacefully passed away at the age of ninety-one on November 10, 2011.

She was the eldest of four children born to Leah Snow Hall and Virgil Hall on May 28, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the big sister to Norman, Gilbert, and Janice DeVore.

Marge graduated from South High School and then furthered her education at the U of U, where she was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority.

She earned her degree in elementary education; which allowed her to pursue her passion for education of the arts and working with young children.

"Mrs Spackman" influenced young minds by making learning fun for more than thirty years teaching third and fourth grades in the Salt Lake City School District.

Her students would approach her with fond memories of how she made an impact on their lives. She was extremely proud to be a great teacher and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

In 1941, Marge married the love of her life, Earl David Spackman, and together they raised five wonderful children including: David (Annette), Sydney Perry (Richard), Mitch (Karen), Marsha, and Bryan (Crystal). She was called Grandma Marge by her twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: husband Earl, daughter Marsha, son David, and grandson Michael.

Marge and Earl were happily married for sixty-four years. Once retired, they travelled often to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, and Sun Valley.

Quintessential and die-hard Ute fans, Marge and Earl were an institution during their forty year run as season ticket holders, always wearing Crimson red and singing the Utah Man.

Marge loved art, painting, swimming, children, teaching, singing, and dancing. Her kindness and love infused every activity and relationship.

A memorial service in Marge's honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), where friends may call at 9:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Virgil is a son of Mosiah Hall and Rose Ann Walton. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1913 to South Africa. He returned to Salt Lake City three years later and was working as a farmer for his father in Geneva, Idaho when he registered for the World War I draft in 1917. It is noted on the registration card that Virgil was medium tall, with medium build. He had gray eyes and light brown hair.
Virgil married Leah Snow on June 12, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They lived in Salt Lake City where Virgil was a manager for a hardware store. They became parents to four children: Marjorie, Norman, Gilbert, and Janice.

Leah Snow Hall, age 96, passed away January 2, 1992 in Salt Lake City.
She was born February 25, 1895 in Salt Lake City to Moroni and Emma Gates Snow. She married Virgil C. Hall on June 12, 1918 in the Salt Lake City to Moroni and Emma Gates Snow. She married Virgil C. Hall on June 12, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Leah was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a teacher in various organizations. She taught school for several years in Salt Lake City and had a keen interest in education. She assisted in the operation of the family business, State Wallpaper Co. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and continuous support of her family.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie and her husband Earl Spackman; Norman and his wife Francis Hall, all Salt Lake City; Gilbert and his wife Marie Hall, Columbus, Ohio; Janice and her husband Richard DeVore, Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 1992, at 12:00 noon, in the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East. Friends may call 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
