    He moved with his father to Little Compton and spent the remainder of his life there. he was admitted a freeman in the Massachusetts Bay Colony 1 May 1722.

    His will, recorded inTaunton Probate, book 10, page 447, made 7 Aug. 1743 and proved 12 Nov. 1744: "...To wife Mary one feather bed, furniture, all household goods that were hers before I married her and she to have meat and drink...from my son William. to son John four score acres of land from the south side of my farm adjoining the farm of Thomas Church Esq. From the northwest corner of said Church's farm to extend north by the highway until a west line from the highway to the river shall make four score acres with buildings. To son William and son Joseph rest of my farm; William's shall be two hundred pounds better than Joseph's. To son Benjamin one fourth part of a four and twenty acre lot the eight in number together with additions now in possession of Samuel Tompkins. To daughter Elizabeth, wife of Edward Gray, 25 pounds. To daughter Rebecca, wife of Joseph Irish, 8 pounds. To daughter Priscilla, wife of William Wilcox, 20 pounds. To daughter Judith, wife of Benjamin Church, 20 pounds. To daughter Mary, wife of Nathaniel Fish, 25 pounds. Rest and residue to the eldest sons John and William..."
