Patricia "Pat" A. (Knapp)Wheelden, 73, of Vermont, VT died on Saturday Morning January 26, 2008 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on November 3, 1934 the daughter of the late Clayton F. and Mary (Robinson) Knapp in Brattleboro, Vermont.Patricia "Pat" A. (Knapp)Wheelden, 73, of Vermont, VT died on Saturday Morning January 26, 2008 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on November 3, 1934 the daughter of the late Clayton F. and Mary (Robinson) Knapp in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Patricia Wheelden served her country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a proud member of the American Legion as a Legionaire . She worked for 36 years as a Resgistry Clerk for the Holstein Dairy Company before retiring from there in 1994. Patricia loved crocheting, gardening, covered bridges, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, taking cruises, and wintering in Florida with her loving husband. She also enjoyed time with her friends and family, and feeding her adopted animals the park cat George, and the neighbor dog Chico.
She was known to her family as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and stepmother, and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Wheelden is survived by her husband John Wheelden Sr. of Vernon, Vermont, a son John E. Wheelden Jr. "JJ" also of Vernon, a stepson Stewart J Wheelden III of Hinsdale, NH, a daughter Mary L. Pintyr Snyder of Enfield, CT, two stepdaughters, Joanne Plansker of Hinsdale, Carol A. Moore of Dummerston, Vermont, a brother Gary Knapp of Guilford, VT, three grandchildren, Darcy A. Snyder, Eric Snyder, Elise Snyder, a, great granddaughter Talia A. Epps, and many step grandchildren nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother Clayton Knapp Jr. and a sister Barbara Knapp Boyd.
Funeral Services for Patricia Wheelden will be held on Thursday January 31, 2008 at 6 pm at the Ker Westerlund Funeral Home. Burial of her cremated remains will be by her family and done later this spring. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 pm to6 pm prior to the service.
