    Name:
    Silas Danes Horton was a farmer, upright, honest, and a man of more than ordinary mental capacity. He was a deacon of the Old School Baptist Church at the time of his death, and for many years before. He wrote frequently on religious subjects, and many of his articles appeared in the "Signs of the times," a religious paper edited and published by the Rev. G. Beebee, of Middletown, NY.

    Dea. Horton was one of the pillars of the church, greatly esteemed by his fellow-citizens, and his death, which occurred 21 Sept. 1850, was deeply lamented.
