    He was Deputy for Glastonbury, May 1703, Apr. 1707, and May and Oct. 1712. he was interpreter and manager of the Indians who served in the expedition to Wood Creek, Mar. 1710/1. he was commissioned Lieut. of the company in Glastonbury, May 1711.

    Mr. Treat was the oldest son of Richard Treat. By his father's will in 1668/9, he inherited the great farm of Nayog, or Nayoug, of some 900 acres.

    This was long called the "Treat Farm," situated in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and some position remained in the family to the present generation. March 11, 1657/8, Mr. Treat was chosen corporal of the Train Band in Wethersfield, the first body of cavalry in Connecticut. He is supposed to have died between Feb., 1690 and 1693, as his name appears in a petition of the former date for the incorporation of Glastonbury, but does not appear in a similar document in 1693.

    Richard married Sarah COLEMAN about 1661. Sarah (daughter of Thomas COLEMAN and Frances ALBRIGHT) was born about 1642; died on 23 Aug 1734 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
