    Excerpt from "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621": Rhoda (Thomas) Smith died during the small pox epidemic along with her stepson John Smith and step-daughter Sarah (Smith) Redding. They are all buried on the farm of John Smith, where a smallpox cemetery was made in Middleboro. The epidemic occured in the midst of the Rev. War when there were so few to take care of the many who were ill.

    Rhoda married Jonathan SMITH on 19 Oct 1751 in Middleboro, Massachustts. Jonathan was born on 24 Sep 1688 in Beverly, Massachusetts; died on 06 Sep 1767 in Middleboro, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
