John Talbot, Knt., Lord Furnival 'jure uxoris', Lord Strange of Blackmere, 7th Lord Talbot second son, was born in 1384. He was married for the first time before 12 Mar 1406/7 to maud Neville, Baroness Furnivall 'de jure'. She was born in 1392, and with her he acquired the great family estates of the family of Furnivall in Hallamshire, of which the castle of Sheffield was the 'caput'. They had three sons. In consequence of his marriage he was summoned to Parliament from 26 Oct 1409 by writs directed 'Johanni Talbot de Furnyvall'. She died in 1423, and was buried at Worksop Priory, co. Nottingham. On the death of his niece Ankaret in 1421, he succeeded to the Baronies of Strange (of Blackmere) and of Talbot. He was married for the second time on 6 Sep 1425 at Warwick Castle, to Margaret Beauchamp. She was born in 1404, and was co-heiress to her mother. They had four sons and two daughters. He fought in the war in France from 1424. For his services he was created Earl of Shrewsbury on 20 May 1442. He was appointed King's Lieutenant of Ireland (being lord of the honour of Wexford), and was created Earl of Waterford on 17 July 1446. John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, was slain, aged seventy, together with his son John, Lord Lisle (son of that name by the second marriege), in an attack on the French at Castillon on the Dordogne on 17 July 1453, and was buried with monumental inscription, at St. Alkmund's Whitchurch, co. Salop.

Richard Talbot, Knt., 4th Lord Talbot, son and heir by first marriage, was born about 1361 (aged twenty-six at father's death). He was summoned to Parliament v.p. in consequence of his marriage to the Heiress of Strange of Blackmere from 3 Mar 1383/4 by writs directed 'Ricardo Talbot de Blakemere'. On succeeding his father he was summoned to Parliament on 17 Dec 1387 by writs directed 'ricardo Talbot de Godriche Castell'.

Richard De Beauchamp, Knt., K.B., K.G., 13th Earl of Warwick, Herediary Sheriff of Worcestshire and Chamberlain of the Exchequer, son and heir, was born at Salwarpe, co. Worcester on 25 or 28 Jan. 1381/2. He served in Wales against Owen Glendower, defeating him near Machynlleth, co. Montgomery, and capturing his banner, in 1402 (dated by the appearance of Halley's comet at the time.)
He was present at the death-bed of King Henry V, 30-31 Aug. 1422, who made him an executor, and bequeathed to his care the education of his infant son, Henry VI.
From 1 June 1428 till 19 May 1436 Richard de Beauchamp was Tutor and Governor to the young King, whom he bore to Westminster Abbey for his Coronation on 6 Nov. 1429. On 16 July 1437 he was appointed lieutenant of France and Normandy, the most serious responsibility of his life, remaining in France thereafter. "Richard Beauchamp therl of Warwyk" died testate (P.C.C., 19 Rous) aged fifty-seven at Rouen on 30 Apr. 1439, and was buried in St. Mary's, Warwick, being afterwards removed to the Lady Chapel, where is a superb monument to him.

Gilbert Talbot, Knt., of Eccleswall, co.Hereford, 3rd Lord Talbot, is the son of Richard Talbot, 2nd Lord Talbot and Elizabeth, daughter and co-heiress of John Comyn. He was summoned to Parliament from 14 Aug 1362. He accompanied Edmund of York (of Langley), Earl of Cambridge, on his expedition to Portugal 1381-82. and was with John 'of Gaunt's' unsuccessful expedition to Spain and Portugal from July 1386. Gilbert Talbot, Lord Talbot, died aged about fifty-five of the pestilence at Roales, Spain, on 24 Apr 1387.
