    Excerpt from Mayflower Increasing: "In his will he mentions lands in England which has resulted in much research carried out in an atempt to locate his origins. It is also interesting to ote that the will of his son Alexander mentions searches made in old England to recover the family lands. Capt. Standis's burial site was exhumed in 1890 and found to contain the remains of an older well built man with red & gray hair, two young women (one under 18) and two boys, and daughter in law Mary, the two boys are probably his sons Charles and John who died young."

    ...7 March 1655/6, "my body to bee layed as neare as conveniently may bee to my two dear daughters Lora Standish by daughter May Standish my daughter-in-law"; ment. wf Barbara; sons Allexander Standish, Myles Standish, Josias Standish and Charles Standish (all single); Marcye Robenson "whome I tenderly love for her Grandfathers sake"; ment. all his lands "by lawful deent in Ormistick, Bousconge/Borsconge, Wrightington, Maudsley, Newburrow, Cranston/Crawston and the Ile of man and given to mee as right heire by lawful decent, but surruptuously detained from mee my great Grandfather being a 2nd or younger brother from the house of Standish of Standish". Pr. 4 May 1657.
