    Notes:

Excerpt from "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621": William Spooner was a framer and also held the office of Constable in the town of Dartmout. He was often called upon tohold other positions of trust.
In his will dated 23 Nov. 1748 (witnessed 4 May 1750), William Spooner names wife Mercy; sons Nathaniel, Joseph,. and Samuel; and daus. Mary and Anna Spooner.

William married Mercy DELANO on 15 Nov 1713 in Duxbury, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. Mercy (daughter of John DELANO and Mary WESTON) was born in 1687 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts; died after 1750. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 3.  Mercy DELANO was born in 1687 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts (daughter of John DELANO and Mary WESTON); died after 1750.

    Notes:

Excerpt from "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621": There has been considerable controversy over the parents of Mercy Delano. The Spoooner Gen. lists her as the dau. of Lt. Jonathan and Mercy (Warren) Delano, but the Mayflower Society does not accept Mercy as a Warren descendant. The compiler of the Delano Gen. placed her as the dau. of John and Mercy (Weston) Delano, and her placement in this family is still tentative. There is no mention of a dau. Mercy Spooner in the will of Jonathan Delano, and there is no probate for John Delano. The fact that she married in Duxbury provides further evidence that the Delano Gen. is correct.
