    Israel was an original proprietor of Woodbury, Connecticut in 1672. He attained the rank of Leutenant in the trainband of Woodbury in October 1690. He was chosen to be a Deputy to the General Court in May 1689 and again in the sessions of June 1689; May and October 1691; May, June and October 1692; May, September and October 1693; October 1695; May and October 1696; May 1699; May 1703; and October 1704. He was also a Commissioner of Woodbury from 1691-1697. He made a will on October 10, 1704 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

    Grace Palmer, daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Palmer, was born in England between the years 1608-10. She became a member of the First Church in Charlestown, Middlesex County, Mass., June 1, 1632, at the same time her father and step-mother united with it. She married, in Charlestown, Thomas Minor, who was born in Chew Magne, county Somerset, England, April 23, 1608, and was of the tenth generation in the Minor family. He came in the fleet which bore John Winthrop, future governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, which put into port at Cape Ann, now Salem, Essex Co., Mass., Saturday, June 12, 1630.
    Thomas Minor received Lot 18 in the first division of land at Mystic Side, now Charlestown, on the sixth of the first month, 1637. His future father-in-law, Walter Palmer, receiving Lot 15.
    From Charlestown, Thomas Minor migrated, first to Hingham, Plymouth County, where four children were born, thence to Stonington, New London County, Conn., where he bouth a large tract of land lying on the borders of Wequetequack Cove, in 1652, whereon he built his house, having made a brief previous residence in Hingham, Plymouth Co. Mass. going thence to New London in 1645, where he had a grant of one home lot and built a house, but sold the whole to settle at his final abode in Stonington, where he met with some difficulty, by the fact that a grant of three hundred acres of land from the town of New London to Governor Haynes, and sold by the latter to Walter Palmer, being found to cover Minor's lot. He, however, signed the conveyance, qualifying it by the reservation that he should inhabit the place until he should have time to erect another dwelling at Mistupet. He held a very prominent place in all the stirring events which ensued in the settlement of this plantation where he died October 23, 1690. She died October, 1690, and is said to have been born the same year as her husband.

    From the "Encyclopedia of CT Biography, Vol 1, p. 337": William Beardsley, the immigrant ancestor, was born in England in 1605, died at the age of 56 years; came to America in 1635, located in Hartford 1638, and in the following spring removed to Stratford, of which he was one of the first settlers; was deputy to the General Court 7 years. William, his wife, Mary, daughter, Mary, and sons John and Joseph arrived on the "Planter" of London which sailed from London on April 2, 1635 and arrived at Boston on Sunday, June 7, 1635. William's brother-in-law, Richard Harvie, a tailor, was aboard ship as was his wife Anne.

    Will of William Beardsley

    I, William Beardsley, of Stratford, being sick and weak, but well in mind, do leave this my last Will and Testament. All my daughters that are now married, I give Ten pounds a peace.
    My sonne, Samuell, I give that red cow which I have now lent him.
    I only reserved two acres of that land at Piquanock for my wife to improve, if Joseph fall in to help her, if she please, the rest is Samuels's. I also give him one of ye new white blankets.
    If Joseph, my son, please to be as assistant to my wife, for the carying on of her bysnes whilst she lives, or marries and leaves the sea, I give to him ye half of my accomodations in Stratford; if not, I give him twenty poinds of my share of ye bark, to add to his part.
    I desire my loving wife, that if she please to add to ye portion of any of my daughters, that she would ad to them all alike.
    The rest of my effects I leave to be disposed unto y wife and children, at the discretion of Mr. Blackman, Philip Grove, John Brinsmayd, John Birdsey and Joseph Hawley.
    As also ye care, government and disposal of my children.
    It is my will that Daniell, after the decease of my wife, that he have ye other halfe of ye lots.
