  1. 1.  Samuel HALL (son of Francis HALL and Elizabeth PICK).

    Notes:

    "History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield": Served as soldier under Capt. Seeley, King Philip's War, and in the Narragansett Fort Fight, Dec. 1675, fell with two bullets in each thigh, but crawled away, cutlass in hand, and after great suffering from exposure and loss of clothing, survived to receive 50 shillings in compensation from a grateful General Assembly in 1678.

  1. 2.  Francis HALL was christened on 5 Feb 1614/15 in Bulkington, Warwickshire, England (son of Edward HALL and Elizabeth KIMBERLEY); died on 05 Mar 1689/90.

    History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield: Deputy for Stratford, May 1661, May 1676, Oct. 1677, Oct. 1678, May and Oct. 1679, May and Oct. 1680, May 1685.
    An original signer of New Haven Covenant, 4 June 1639. had three in family 1641. Brought John and Thomas Whitehead from England, nephews of Thomas Alcott in "the Bay" (Mass.) and of Mr. Alcott of Roxbury. Bought land from Thomas Fugill which he sold to John Meigs, 1649, and rem. to Stratford.
    He purchased land in Fairfield in 1654, and in 1659 in Stratford. On 12 Apr. 1654, being then of Stratford, he purchased with his wife Elizabeth, land in Fairfield from Thomas Wheeler, yeoman.
    Married (1) Elizabeth ?, who d. at Fairfield, 6 july 1665. She inherited a house and land in England, which he sold about 1664, and in 1687 their son Isaac entered a caveat to prevent his father from selling Fairfield lands, which he claimed for the children of Elizabeth.
    Married (2) at Stratford, last of Oct. 1665, Dorothy, widow of John Blackman. She was dau. of Rev. Henry Smith of Wethersfield, and m. (3) early in 1692, Mark St. John of Norwalk, and (4) Dea. Isaac Moore of Farmington.
    He d. (rec.Fairfield) 5 Mar. 1689/90.
    Will of Francis "of Stratford" 6 May 1686, proved 14 Mar. 1689/90; wife, referring to her last husband John Blackman; sons Isaac, Samuel; daus. Mary, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Hannah.

    Francis married Elizabeth PICK on 15 Apr 1634 in Shackerstone, Leicestershire, England. Elizabeth was christened on 27 Nov 1614 in St. Martins, Birmingham, England; died on 06 Jul 1665 in Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
