    Except from :"Phulp Delano of the 'Fortune' 1621": Thomas lived for a short time in tolland, then moved to Charon ca. 1759. He was chosen as a Deacon of Mr. Knibloe's Presbyterian Church called the "Round top Meeting House" in Amenia. the family actually resided just over the line in CT. the sliver of land along the Dutchess Co. NY border is still known as "the oblong"; and refers to the land that was given to NY by CT in 1730 in exchange for the lower portin of Westchester Co. just above the Bronx.
    On 10 Feb 1760 Lois Delano brought recommendations fro the Tolland Church to join the church in Amenia. On 25 Oct. 1774 Deacon Thomas Delano entered a complaint against a member for forgery.

    Excerpt from "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621": After their marriage Jonathan and Amy lived in New Bedford, where the first nine of their children were born. In 1722 they moved to Tolland, where two of Amy's brothers and other relatives had already settled. Jonathan was considered a prominent man of Tolland: he was Town Clerk 1724-36, Selectman 1724-35, and held several other offices of trust.
    Jonathan Delano became a large land owner, and many transactions are recorded when Jonathan conveyed land in Tolland and Coventry, CT to his sons.
    In his will, dated 2 March 1751/2 and recorded 18 Nov 1754, Jonathan Delano of Coventry CT names wife Amy; sons Jabez, Nathan, Jonathan, Barnabas, Silvanus, Thomas, Timothy and Jethro; his daus. Sarah West, Jane West, Amey West, Elizabeth Chamberlain and Susannah Grant.

    Jonathan Delano, town-clerk of Tolland, came from Dartmouth, Mass., May 8, 1722. He was a resident of Tolland July 20, 1723, as appears by a deed to him of that date from Stephen Steel. He was twelve years town clerk, and eleven years a selectman.
