    Anne of Gloucester, Countess of Buckingham, Hereford, and Northampton, elder daughter and eventual sole heiress, was born in April 1383 (aged seventeen and more in 1399-1400), and was eventual sole heiress to her brother, Humphrey, Earl of Buckingham. She was married for the first time to Thomas De Stafford, 3rd Earl of Stafford. He died on 4 July 1392 s.p. during her childhood. She was married to the second time to her first husband's brother Edmund Stafford, 5th Earl of Stafford, and had one son and two daughters. He was slain at the battle of Shrewsbury on 21 July 1403. She was married for the third time, with pardon for marrying without royal licence dated 20 Nov 1405, to William Bourgchier, Knt., M.P. for Essex, younger son of William Bourgchier, Knt., by Alianor, younger daughter and eventual sole heiress of John de Lovaine, of Little Easton, Essex. He was born in 1374. They had four sons and one daughter. He accompanied King Henry V to France in August 1415 and was at the battle of Agincourt on 25 Oct. 1415. On 10 June 1419 he was granted the 'comte' of Eu previously held by Charles d'Artois. Sir William Bourgchier, Comte d'Eu, died aged forty-six at Troyes on 28 May 1420 (evidently while in the retinue of King Henry V). His widow survived eighteen years and in 1421 made partition with King Henry V of the Bohun estates, which made her the richest widow in England. The will of "Anne Countess of Stafford' Bokingh' Herford' and Northampton' and Lady of Breknoc" was dated 16 Oct 1438. They were buried at Llanthony Abbey near Gloucester, of which she was hereditary patron.

    Thomas De Mowbray, Int., K.G., 6th Lord Mowbray, younger son, was born on 22 Mar 1365/6, and was brother and heir of John De Mowbray. He was created Earl of Nottingham on 12 Feb 1382/3, Earl Marshal on 30 June 1385, and Duke of Norfolk on 29 Sep 1397. He was married for the first time to Elizabeth Strange, Baroness Strange of Blackmere 'suo jure', daughter and heiress of John Strange, Lord Strange of Blackmere. She died in her tenth year on 23 Aug 1383 s.p. He married for the second tie at Arundel Castle in the presence of the King and Queen in July 1384 to Elizabeth Fitz Alan, widow of William Montagu, styled Lord Montagu. She was born in 1375. He served under his father-in-law in the naval victory over the French, Spanish and Flemish fleets off Margate on 24 Mar 1386/7. On his return from the Holy Land Thomas De Mowbray, Duke of Norfolk, died of the pestilence at Venice, Italy, on 22 Sep 1399, and was buried in the abbey of St. George there.

He took part in the Earl of Buckingham's expedition to Brittany, where he was knighted at St. Omer in July 1380. He succeeded his father on 17 Oct 1388, and was summoned to Parliament from 6 Dec 1389, by writs directed 'Radulpho de Nevyll de Raby'. From 1389 till 1424 he was continually employed on the Border in negotiating truces and peace with Scotland. He was married for the second time before 20 Feb 1397 to Joan Beaufort, widow of Robert Ferrers. She was born about 1379. He was created Earl of Westmorland on 29 Sep 1397. His near alliance to the House o Lancaster (being son-in-law of John of Gaunt), led him to forsake the King, and take a prominent part in the elevation of Henry of 'Bolingbroke' the exiled Duke of Lancaster, to the throne as King Henry IV. Ralph Neville, Earl of Westmorland, died testate at Raby Castle on 21 Oct. 1425, and was buried at Staindrop, Durham. His second wife, on whom the lordships of Middleham and Sheriff-Hutton, with other extensive lands, were between he and her sons on the one side, and the grandsons of her husband by his first wife on the other, which resulted in the elder branch espousing the cause of Lancaster, and Salisbury and his brothers, that of York.

    He was summoned to Parliament on 1 Dec 1376, and created Earl of Buckingham on 16 July 1377 at the Coronation of King Richard II when he acted as Constable, and Duke of Gloucester on 6 Aug. 1385. He was Earl of Essex 'jure uxoris', but not of Herreford or Northampton, and was recognised as Constable of England 'jure uxoris'. He was active in the French and Scottish wars, and was the leader of the opposition against the autocratic rule of his nephew King Richard II. After ten years of quarreling with Richard, he was said to have conspired to imprison the King. Thomas Of Gloucester, Duke of Gloucester, was arrested at Pleshey, taken to Calais where he was murdered by suffocation, it is said in a house called the Prince's Inn, on 8 or 15 Sep 1397 according to the confessions of his murderers, and was buried at Westminster Abbey.
