He resided in King William County, were he was a justice and owned an ordinary, which he rented (15 Sep 1768). Francis was owner of the brigantine "Friendship" in 1770 (May 14), which was wrecked on the coast of Portugal. He moved to Lunenburg County about 1775 and then to Mecklenburg Co., which he represented in the House of Delegates. Roger served in the American Revolution.
