    His will of 14 Jan 1766/7 was proved in Tiverton on 2 Feb 1766/7. He provided for his children and grandchildren, but reserved his unkindest remarks to his "undutiful son Job." He left him one Spanish milled dollar, "I having expended 2000 pounds on him for which he gives me no thanks." He gave his slaves Jack and Isaac their freedom 1 Jn 1771, "if they behave well."
