Name:
Captain Augustine Warner, who came to Virginia about 1628 and settled in York County. Later, in 1656, he removed to Gloucester County, where he acquired a large estate and was prominent in the affairs of the colony. His son, Colonel Augustine, was educated in England and succeeded to his father's estate and influence in the colony. He married Mildred, the daughter of George Read, and their daughter, Mildred, married Lawrence Washington the grandfather of General George Washington.

Mildred married Capt Lawrence WASHINGTON, Gent. about 1689. Lawrence (son of Col. John WASHINGTON and Anne POPE) was born in Sep 1659 in Westmoreland Co., Virgina; died in Feb 1697/8. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Augustine WASHINGTON was born about 1694 in Wakefield, Westmoreland Co., Virgina; died on 12 Apr 1743 in Ferry Farm, King George Co., Virginia.
