    John Wallace Slawson Sr., a member of the former New York real estate firm of Slawson and Hobbs, died of a heart ailment yesterday at the John E. Andrus Memorial, Hastings - on - Hudson, which he entered last year. His home was at 185 Old Broadway, Hastings-0n-Hudson. His age was seventy-eight.

    Mr. Slawson attended New York University. He belonged to the Old Guard Club in White Plains where he had lived several years ago. He was a member also of the Masons.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Abby Benson: a son, John W. Jr.; a sister, Mrs. F.G. Hobbs, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    SLAWSON -- John Wallace of the john E. Andrus Memorial, on April 13th 1958, beloved husband of Abby Benson Slawson and father of J. Wallace Slawson, jr. of Long Island.     SLAWSON BROTHER'S PICTURE:

    The picture of the Slawson Brothers outfit was taken in the fall of 1876. The late Mr. Loton Horton was at the time a foreman and canvasser, having just been promoted. Mr. I.A. Van Bomel remembers well all the faces in the picture and he has prepared the following memorandum relative to each man shown.

    Left to right, seated: Orson W. Horton, Charles Cox, I.A. Van Bomel, Charles B.Carpenter, and Emmett Stoddard. The little boy between Emmett Stoddard and Charles R. Carpenter is G.I. Slawson, son of Daniel Slawson, who is now head of the real estate firm of Slawson & Hobbs. Continuing, the next one is John Finch and then Hirman Horton and Sayre J. Slawson.

    Left to right, standing, directly behind those seated: Charles Wheat, Decatur Slawson, Samuel J. Tillman and the small boy standing is Horace T. Horton.

    Left to right, standing, last row: Nathan Slawson, John C. Slawson, Daniel S. Slawson, Nathan Slawson was the father of J.C., D.S.,and Andrew, and the grandfather of Loton Horton.

    The first on the above list, Orson W. Horton, drove Route No. 12, and he is now living near Horseheads, NY. Mr. Cox drove Route 11 and passed away about 30 years ago Mr. Van Bomel drove Route No. 9 and is still with the Sheffeld organization. Chas. B. Carpenter drove Route No. 8 and passed away 28 years ago. Emmett Stoddard drove Route No. 6 and is still living in New York, being interested in a Mission on lower Eighth Avenue. John Finch drove Route No. 5 and I do not know whether he is alive or his whereabouts, but am under the impression that he has passed along. Mr. Hiram Horton passed away about 20 years ago. He drove Route No. 1.

    Mr. S.J. Slawson drove Route No. 10 and is still connected with the Company. Mr. Wheat drove Route No. 3; he is retired and living at Bayside, L.I. Mr. Decatur passed away about ten years ago and the last I heard of Mr. Tillman, who drove Route No. 2, he was living in Buffalo with his daughter. Mr. Horace T. Horton, who is a half brother of Loton Horton

    WIDOW OF MILK DEALER, IS DEAD

    Mrs. Sarah Slawson, widow of Daniel Slawson, died at her home in Hartsdale, Thursday afternoon, of heart failure. Sometime ago she sustained a fractured hip, which had ket her confined to her bed the past several weeks, but she was recovering when her heart gave out. Deceased was born on the old Slawson homestead in the Town of Greenville in May, 1841, a daughter of Lemuel Harding and Harriet Clark Slawson. she was married in 1861 to Daniel Slawson. The couple moved to New York where Mr. Slawson was engaged in the milk business later becoming a firm member of the Sheffield Farms-Slawson Decker Co. She was an active member of the Old School Baptist Church.
    She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Oscar Woodruff, Hartsdale; George L. Greenwich, Conn; head of the New York real estate firm of Slawson & Hobbs; Harriet, wife of Fred G. Hobbs of the same firm; Loton H., White Plains, and head of the real estate firm of Loton H. Slawson Company; John Wallace Slawson, White Plains. Mrs. Fred Heath, of this city, is a sister of Mrs. Slawson.
    The funeral service was held at 4 o'clock, Friday at the home in Hartsdale. Burial is to be in the family plot in Hillside cemetery Sunday, at 11 o'clock--or as soon thereafter as the arrival from Hartsdale by automobile.

    Mrs. Elizabeth A. Slawson

    Mrs. Elizabeth A., widow of the late Nathan Slawson, of Waverly, died in that village yesterday at the age of about 76 years. She had been an invalid for a great many years.

    Her maiden name was Warner. She was born near Bloomingburg. Most of her life was spent in Waverly and for some time she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. hattie Wood, in that village.

    She is survived by five children as follows: Daniel S. Slawson, the well known New York milk Dealer; Ex=postmaster A.A. Slawson, of Waverly; Decatur Slawson, of New York; Mrs. H.E. Tuthill, of New York, and Mrs. Hattie Wood, of Waverly.

    Mrs. Slawson is also survived by two sisters, both of whom reside in Middletown. they are Mrs. Prudence Horton and Mrs. Lucinda Wheat, of West Main Street. Mr. W.G. Slauson, of the Morgans & Wilcox Mfg. Co., and Mr. J. Decatur Horton are nephews.

    She was a member of the Old School Baptist Church. The funeral occurs at Waverly tomorrow.
