Obituary - Morris Tribune 9-26-1924, p. 5 "John Carey Dies. John Carey, one of the pioneer settlers of Darnen Township, died on Wednesday afternoon. He had a fall in July, breaking his hip, and since then he has been in failing health. He was about 70 years of age.
He is survived by three daughters and one son. Two of the daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, and the son Lawrence, are at home. Mrs. carey died a number of years ago. The funeral will be held from Assumption church saturday morning at 9:30. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Section 3, row 9, the same as all the Rowles family.

Also is mentioned that another John Carey died 1880 in MOrris, He froze to death in a blizzard. Not sure if this is our John Carey or not.

Mary's marriage to Thomas Carey/Cary took place before the Cappamore records began. She immigrated to America after her husband's death, probably after 1852 when her paretns and siblings emigrated, with her children John and Conn. (Cappamore, Co. Limerick, parish records show 5 Carys born to the same parents, two named Thomas. It is likely the second Thomas was born after the first one died.) Lizzie Rowles family history only mentions two boys and that Thomas Carey died and was buried in Ireland
