Chloe was the daughter of CAPT. Asa Childs and Rhoda Wright. She was born in Deerfield, Franklin, Massachusetts in 1749. She married 19 Nov 1771 in Shelburne Falls, Franklin, Massachusetts to Jabez Ransom, son of Newton and Sarah (Jones) Ransom. Jabez was a Lieutenant in the War of the Revolution.

The Jabez Ransom family was one of the earliest to settle at Chazy Point, Clinton county, New York. Her husband died there in 1816.
